Bed and Breakfast Sandra is a two storey house with a garden situated about 10 minutes walk from the historical centre of Florence and the city’s main train station, Santa Maria Novella. It is a mere few minutes walk from the Palazzo dei Congressi (conference centre) and the Fortezza da Basso (trade fair centre). Located immediately outside of the historical centre’s restricted traffic zone, it is easily accessible by car with available street parking in front or the option of private garage use.

It is an ideal starting point from which to discover the innumerable treasures that Florence, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, has to offer. You can visit the Cathedral (Santa Maria del Fiore) with the beautiful Dome by Filippo Brunelleschi and the Campanile by Giotto, the Palazzo Vecchio, heart of Florentine politics since the 14th century,and the nearby Uffizi gallery home to painting masterpieces by Filippo Lippi, Paolo Uccello, Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael and Michelangelo.

Crossing over the Ponte Vecchio bridge, one of the favourite symbols of the city, you arrive at the Pitti Palace with the monumental Boboli gardens stretching out behind. Afterwards, walk up to the romantic Piazzale Michelangelo where you can admire and photograph the beautiful renaissance city below. Nearby, and slightly higher up, is the stupendous church of San Miniato al Monte with an even more breathtaking view of Florence and the surrounding countryside. Of course there is also the Accademia gallery with the David sculpture by Michelangelo and the Basilica San Lorenzo with the magnificent Medici chapels behind.

Other than the already internationally renowned sites and museums, Florence has so much more to offer and beautiful places to explore. For an in depth discovery of the city and some of the hidden treasures of the Tuscan region, a guided tour is a great option.
